BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Powerball jackpot is estimated to be at $1.3 billion, the fifth highest in history.
According to Kentucky Lottery CFO Maggie Garrison, Powerball numbers have already been drawn 41 times without a winner. However, during the Sept. 1 drawings, 10 tickets won $1 million, including one sold right here in Kentucky.
Kentucky Lottery president Mary Harville spoke about the increasing interest in the Powerball with WBKO.
“When that jackpot hits about 600 million, then we start to see a much stronger uptick in sales, and of course, when people see the uptick in sales than that makes them be more interested in buying. So, it’s a great cycle that you get in, and we’re in that cycle,” she explained.
Garrison says they are also seeing a stronger uptick in sales.
“We
