DENVER (KDVR) -- It's arguably the "hoppiest" time of the year for beer lovers: Oktoberfest is here, and Colorado has lots of events and locally brewed beers to celebrate with.

Oktoberfest started in Munich and has become a worldwide beer festival that celebrates Bavarian culture each fall. This year, the celebration is set for Sept. 20 through Oct. 5, but there will be lots of events outside of that window, too.

The events have things to attract anyone's interest, many include vendors, live music and stein hoisting competitions, and there are even gluten-free events.
