WAILUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Firefighters have contained a brush fire that was reported at 3:09 p.m., in Wailuku, Maui.

Maui Emergency Management Agency sent out an advisory for the fire saying it’s near Piihana Road in Wailuku.

At 3:28 p.m., MEMA said the fire was contained.

MEMA says to continue to avoid the area if possible to allow crews to operate.

Smoke impacts may be present.

Follow instructions from officials and stay informed.

The Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) continues to monitor the situation and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
