LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders ordered flags be flown at half-staff to mourn the passing of state Sen. Gary Stubblefield.

Stubblefield served in the Arkansas Legislature for over a decade up until his death on Tuesday, Sept. 2 . He was 74.

The governor ordered that both the U.S. and Arkansas flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise on Sept. 3 to sunset on the day the senator is laid to rest.

"Stubblefield loved the Natural State and was committed to bettering the lives of Arkansans through public service. It is fitting and right for Arkansas to honor him and his years of service to her people," the order says.
