GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - This morning at 6:30 a.m., Mission 76 of the Old Glory Honor Flight lifted off from Appleton International Airport (ATW), carrying 92 veterans, including one female veteran, ranging in age from 69 to 94, on a complimentary, day-long commemorative journey to Washington, D.C.

This mission marks a significant milestone as part of Old Glory Honor Flight’s efforts, which have now carried more than 7,000 veterans to visit memorials in the nation’s capital.

A volunteer medical team, composed of doctors and nurses, accompanied the veterans on this flight to ensure their health and safety throughout the journey, a vital but often overlooked element of the program.
