EAST PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Open for just over a year, The Putt Club along the Illinois River is ready to expand with the help of a half-million-dollar government loan.

The East Peoria City Council unanimously approved the loan without discussion at its meeting Tuesday night.

The Putt Club offers indoor and outdoor miniature golf, along with a restaurant and bar. The business is looking to expand its space for indoor mini golf so more people can play on rainy days and during the winter.

The Putt Place will have five years to repay the $500,000 loan plus 5% interest. The money the city is loaning The Putt Place comes from the government’s revolving loan fund.

The fund currently has $650,000 available, according to a report from East Peoria city staff.
