OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Jenny Sammons draws inspiration from spirituality, ancestry and color in her ‘Layers of Becoming’ art exhibit.
Sammons is from Fairfield and graduated from Maharishi University.
“I’m trying to make work that inspires people, uplifts myself and uplift people who view it, so I feel like I’m just being guided to every next piece of work that I make and every next show,” said Sammons
Sammons uses acrylic on canvas to bring her art to where people naturally gather. Like her exhibit at Indian Hills Community College.
“I like to inspire a sense of joy and unity and like all the beautiful colors of the work represent all of the colors that are within us and within us as a human race,” said Sammons.
The exhibit is on display through September 25th.
