LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Hoping to showcase the necessary teamwork for safe gameday travel, the Nebraska State Patrol plans to bring the Husker’s game ball across the state this week.
Starting in Omaha, the football will travel across all six troop areas, finishing at Memorial Stadium on Saturday for the first home game.
The state patrol said it’s all in the name of promoting safety as husker fans travel statewide to converge on Lincoln.
“We’re gonna look for iconic areas within the state ... to kind of be symbolic,” Col. Bryan Waugh said. “All the way west, we’ll go out to Scottsbluff and we’ll bring it on back and then we’ll turn the ball over on game day.”
Waugh said there’s three notable construction zones on Interstate 80 heading west into Lincoln. Those include stretches near Ogall
