WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Vandalism struck West Hartford this past weekend.
More than a dozen lawn signs reading "We Stand With Israel" were destroyed. Most of the signs were outside the homes of Jewish families and local religious leaders said it was an act of antisemitism.
"This was an act of intimidation,” Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford President David Waren said. “It was meant to send a message to the Jewish community and those who support Israel, of intimidation."
Waren says a police report has been filed and an investigation is open. News 8 reached out to the West Hartford Police Department but has not heard back. Waren said patrols have been posted in the community.
