CARMICHAEL, Calif. —

Many Sacramento County residents, especially in the area of Carmichael, spent the day cleaning up after a sudden wind event on Tuesday morning brought down trees, causing significant damage to some properties.

"It literally felt like you just got teleported right into the Wizard of Oz," said Sacramento resident Jaime Laughton. "There was debris flying across the road. People were running around. The trees were just swaying back and forth. It was crazy."

Across Manzanita Avenue in Carmichael, home security footage captured the moments before a large tree crashed into the yard, just missing the home. Throughout the day, residents could be seen outside their homes using leaf blowers and clippers to clean up the aftermath.
