NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. —
Nearly 3,000 people were without power in Nevada County on Tuesday evening, according to a map from PG&E.
The outages come as lightning strikes have battered the region, although PG&E has not specified a cause for the outages.
The outages are primarily in unincorporated portions of the county, with 2,881 customers affected as of 9:30 p.m.
Additionally, the Nevada County Sheriff's Office said forward progress was stopped on the Bitney Fire, which burned several acres near the community of Lake Wildwood.
