MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) -- Patrick Etherton said Mt. Zion's week 1 performance was a rewind back to November with his returners from the trip to the state championship.

The Braves easily topped Limestone to open the season 49-0.

Now Etherton's squad is prepping for a fellow 4A program with great leadership and tradition, but the Braves aren't focused on how the Rockets perform they're instead locked in on their own battles.

The Braves are coming off their first state title appearance in program history.

In nine years with Etherton they've won an average of seven games per year.
