Duke football's 2025 season continues as it hosts No. 11/12 Illinois in Week 2 at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Duke opened the year with a 45-17 win over Elon in Week 1, with quarterback Darian Mensah throwing for 389 and three touchdowns, completing 79% of his passes in his debut. Illinois also impressed in its opener, routing Western Illinois 52-3 on Friday, Aug. 29.

Saturday’s match up kicks off at noon ET on ESPN. It will be just the third all-time meeting between the two programs – and the first since 1965 – with the series tied 1-1. Duke won the only prior matchup played in Durham in 1958.

While it has been sometime since Duke has faced off against Illinois, coach Manny Diaz is familiar with the Fighting Illini from his time at Penn State.
