MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A woman was seriously injured and a man was detained after a shooting Monday morning in Raleigh, police said.

Memphis Police (MPD) said the shooting happened just after 10 a.m. on Bellwood Drive off Yale Road. But while officers headed to that location, they were told that a shooting victim arrived at a nearby fire station; she was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police said a man was detained in connection with the shooting but did not further elaborate.
