A Cornish coastal town, a favourite amongst holidaymakers and once a hub for smugglers, is reportedly haunted by spectral apparitions.

The 'ghastly face' spotted in an old window of the 17th-century Fisherman's Arms pub is believed to be that of smuggler Thomas Crocker, who took his own life one night following a bout of 'temporary alcoholic insanity'.

Crocker's ghost is a well-known tale in Looe, Cornwall, but there are also reports of numerous other hauntings in the seaside town, including a 'pale girl appearing on the stairway in rags', at the Smugglers Cott Restaurant.

Dating back to 1420, the restaurant has also been the site of sightings of a 'dark figure' in its 'secret cellar', which now serves as a restaurant and bar.
