A lorry narrowly avoided a head-on crash on a major Aberdeenshire road when it drove the wrong way towards oncoming traffic. ‌

Shocking footage taken from a dashcam shows how the moment a horror collision nearly occurred on an A90 underpass. ‌

The car is driving towards the lorry heading in the right direction. Suddenly an HGV appears heading straight towards it, Aberdeen Live reports. ‌

The driver of the car was forced to brake suddenly with the lorry swerving to prevent a horror smash.

The incident happened on Monday, September 1 on the B9000 slip road at the Newburgh turn-off.

A 61-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the incident. ‌
