ST. LOUIS - The Powerball jackpot has reached a staggering $1.3 billion for Wednesday night's drawing, making it the fifth-largest in the game's history.
The jackpot has been growing since May, with the last winning ticket sold in California, marking the 41st consecutive drawing without a winner. The cash option for the jackpot is approximately $589 million.
"I'd probably pay off all the bills, of course. Make sure all my family's taken care of, my son's got college taken care of," said Jeremiah Stockwell, a hopeful Powerball participant. "I would never see me again. Be off on my private jet somewhere."
Despite no jackpot winner on Monday night, two players from Montana and North Carolina each won $2 million. Additionally, ten tickets across the country were worth $1 million each.
