(Marion) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs swept past New Braunfels Christian Academy in a non-district match at Marion High School on Tuesday night.

The Lady Bulldogs took the match, 25-21, 25-14, 25-20. Marion fell behind in the first set but rallied with a 13-2 run to go up 1-0.

Ellie Parker got the Lady Bulldogs off to a good start in each of the next two sets. The senior setter rolled off five straight points off serve to start the second set and got Marion off to a 4-0 lead in the third set off her serve.

First-year Marion head volleyball coach Bree Holz-Gonzales talked about Parker’s serve and play following the match.

“She has a great serve. It has a lot of movement on it,” Holz-Gonzales said. “She’s a senior. She’s been in this role for a few years now, so she’s really settled in. Sh
