The recent series against the Nationals and White Sox came at just the right time to reignite the Yankees offense. They exploded for double-digit runs in four games out of a five-game span to get themselves right back into the AL East race. Just as encouraging as those high-scoring affairs was the gritty effort in the 11th inning of the third game in Chicago, the middle of the Yankees’ lineup stringing together multiple clutch hits to plate three and win the game, 5-3.
