BLOOMINGTON ― Opening the girls soccer season by playing two teams in the top 10 and two more in the top 20 of Class 3A before September even gets here would seem to be a tough ask.
Not for Bloomington South coach David Prall. Not for a program that expects to be considered one of the 10 best in the state. It should be business as usual. The Panthers, who made a run to the state title game two years ago, want to stay in that rare air.
You are the company you keep. South had mixed results as would be expected, losing 3-0 to Center Grove, beating Castle 4-1, losing to Carmel 2-0 and tying with Evansville North 0-0. The Panthers also beat 1A No. 4 Providence 4-1 and whipped 2A No. 18 Washington 7-0.
But lessons learned are far more important at this stage as the Panthers sit 4-2-1 after a
