NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Fall is here, and there are two cold fronts that will bring storm chances to the region ahead of a weekend cooldown. There is low-end severe storm risk on Thursday, and possibly another storm risk Friday. By Saturday, temperatures are much cooler.

Thursday

On Thursday, the Storm Prediction Center has areas mostly east of I-65 are under a Marginal Risk (1/5). This is the lowest risk scale, meaning a few strong to severe storms are possible.

The primary storm threats will be wind gusts and small hail. Some storms will produce brief heavy rain.

The storms start in Southern Kentucky early on Thursday morning and push east through the state through midday. From midday to the afternoon, storms develop ahead of the cold front in the eastern counties of Middle Tenness
