To say the Prairie Falcons plan to take flight this football season isn’t just because of the school’s avian mascot.

With a senior quarterback and one of the most experienced receiving corps in the area, Prairie plans to continue elevating under second-year coach Junior Miller.

Miller’s first season saw Prairie finish 5-4 after going 2-7 the previous year. Now, almost all of the skill positions are manned by seasoned seniors.

“They were good last year, but they’re great now,” Miller said. “We’re three deep at all those positions on offense and our secondary as well.”

It starts with quarterback Deven Vigue, who last year threw for more than 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns, both second most in the 3A Greater St. Helens League. He earned second-team all-league honors.
