MACKINAW CITY — A Mississippi man was arrested early Tuesday after police say he was found with a stolen bicycle, a loaded pistol and ammunition.
According to a Sept. 2 news release from the Mackinaw City Police Department, at about 3:47 a.m. Sept. 2, an officer was dispatched to a hotel after a man entered the building several times, telling the clerk that someone was following him. After the man left, 911 was called
A short time later, an officer located a man matching the description. Police said he was found in possession of a stolen bicycle and a loaded pistol magazine.
Investigators determined he had thrown a semi-automatic pistol under a vehicle in a nearby parking lot before police arrived. The firearm was recovered, and officers said it was loaded with an additional magazine.
