Lansing — Monica Yatooma, an Oakland County businesswoman and 2024 Republican National Convention delegate, announced Wednesday she'll seek the GOP nomination for secretary of state next year.
Yatooma, 38, of Commerce Township has built connections within the Michigan Republican Party and has experience in grassroots advocacy, previously co-founding a nonprofit called the Great Education Initiative that works to strengthen parents' rights and local control within the school system. She also owns a hazardous waste removal company called Metro Detroit Medical Waste.
