CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - Part of a Champion Township roadway is set to close for one hour for a 5k run Sunday, September 7.

Educational Highway and Research Parkway will be closed between State Route 45 and Champion Avenue between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday, September 7 for the 9/11 Heroes Memorial Run.

During the road closure, a detour route will take drivers west on Champion Avenue and then south on SR-45.

The run is hosted by the Travis Manion Foundation and honors those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and pays tribute to the veterans, military service members and first responders who serve our communities today.

The run will take place at Kent State University's Trumbull County campus starting at 9 a.m. You can sign up for the event or make a donation
