EAST POINT, Ga. — A man was shot Monday at a McDonald's in East Point, police said.

It happened at the restaurant at 3201 Camp Creek Parkway. East Point Police said responding officers encountered a victim with a gunshot wound in the drive-thru area.

Witnesses told the officers the victim had been in the bathroom when he was shot.

"Police units observed video footage, with a male suspect, wearing all black, with a black bookbag, enter the location. The suspect entered the bathroom where the victim was located and there was a gun shot," a police statement said. "Shortly after the gunshot, the suspect exited the incident location."

A shell casing was recovered from the bathroom

The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. A little after midnight Tuesday morning, there was no update
