ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - State lawmakers and Apalachee High School students, former and current, marked the somber first anniversary of the deadly shooting at the Barrow County school that killed two teachers and two students, leaving nine others hurt.
The first shots rang out a little after 10 in the morning on Sept. 4, 2024. One year later, students, some now graduated and off to college, stood on the steps of the state Capitol to remember the victims.
