MADISON, Wis. -- Joe Pavelski will join the ranks of the United States' greatest hockey legends later this year.
The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame announced that Pavelski will be part of the Class of 2025. He'll be joined by Bruce Bennett, Scott Gomez, Tara Mounsey and Zach Parise.
Born in Plover, Pavelski played two seasons with Wisconsin and helped the Badgers win the 2006 NCAA Championship. He led the squad in points that season.
After winning that 2006 title, Pavelski left Madison for sunny California to join the San Jose Sharks. He would stay with San Jose for the next 13 seasons, becoming a legend for the team. He was given the captaincy in 2015 and led the Sharks to their first-ever Stanley Cup Finals in 2016, losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games.
