A Homestead Police officer accused of being involved in a hit-and-run crash while intoxicated was arrested, officials said.

Henry Quintero, 43, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash.

According to police, on Tuesday, an officer arrived at East Palm Drive and U.S. 1 after receiving reports of a hit-and-run.

An arrest report said that the officer met with the driver of a Bronco who was traveling northbound on U.S. 1, approached the intersection of East Palm Drive, and while passing a green light at the intersection, a Honda CR-V that was speeding, ran a red light and struck them.

After the Bronco was struck, it overturned and collided with a Ford Mustang at the scene, the report said. The Honda stopped but then made a U-turn at the intersection and fled the scene.
