Michigan freshman edge rusher Nate Marshall wasted no time making an impact in his collegiate debut, logging two quarterback pressures — one of which forced an interception — and one tackle in the season-opening win over New Mexico last weekend.

Not only did he look poised and prepared, Marshall displayed impressive athleticism, instincts and speed off the edge on Saturday. Marshall’s performance drew praise from his coaches and teammates alike, including defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.

“Nate Marshall is going to be a name that everybody’s going to be talking about. You could see it from day one,” Martindale said on the Inside Michigan Football radio show this week. “He showed everybody, every Michigan fan. The way he rushed the quarterback, he’s just getting started.”
