A shooting in Toronto's west-end on Wednesday has resulted in two individuals being hospitalized with serious injuries. The incident occurred near Keele Street and Donald Avenue around 11:55 a.m. when police received reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims, a man and a woman, who had sustained gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported both individuals to the hospital. Their current condition remains unclear, and it is not known if their injuries are life-threatening.

Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene and arrested one suspect. The Toronto District School Board announced that York Memorial Collegiate Institute, located nearby, is on lockdown due to the ongoing police investigation. Other schools in the vicinity, including Charles E. Webster Public School, Silverthorn Community School, and Keelesdale Junior Public School, are under a hold and secure protocol as a precaution.
