Max Dowman has set a new record after making his debut for England U19s in a 2-0 win over Ukraine U19s at the Pinatar Arena on Wednesday.

The Arsenal wonderkid – who has just been named in the Gunners’ Champions League squad – came off the bench in the 70th minute, replacing Jeremy Monga for the last 20 minutes of the friendly clash.

Dowman has already played for the Young Lions at U16s and U17s level but has jumped up two age groups to represent the England U19s team.

At 15 years, eight months and three days – Dowman has now become the youngest-ever player for the England U19s, according to Transfermarkt.

Dowman will be hoping to make more appearances for Will Antwi’s team, who are in Murcia in Spain for three games this month as they begin their preparations for the upcoming UEFA Eur
