Two minors were arrested in connection with a stolen car found in Waterbury last week, including one who allegedly ditched a gun while being chased by police.
The vehicle was spotted on Aug. 28 at 4:16 p.m. when members of the Waterbury Police Department ’s Auto Theft Task Force were patrolling the 1900 block of North Main Street, according to police.
Police noticed that the license plate on a 2016 Honda Accord had been stolen from somewhere in the city before finding that the vehicle had been reported stolen in New York, police said. Officers then approached two juveniles, ages 17 and 15, who were believed to be connected to the Accord, according to police.
The 15-year-old allegedly took off on foot while the other teen remained at the scene, police said. During a brief foot pursuit,
