CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Several Cape Girardeau leaders met for the annual State of the Community address on Wednesday, September 3.
An estimated 300 people were expected to be at the event.
We spoke with Mayor Stacy Kinder, who explained why this was so important.
“It’s just a great event for all of us to be together in one place and to hear from our leaders, of course, and to get on the same page, really, on a lot of the things that are going on,” she said.
Chris Hutson, chairman of the board of directors at the Chamber of Commerce, called the luncheon a learning opportunity.
“This is an opportunity for people to be able to listen and talk to leadership about what’s going on in the community, and what’s going on in the state...” he added.
