GROTON, Conn, (WTNH) — A Groton man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in federal prison for producing and possessing child sex abuse material, according to the Department of Justice.

Michael Landon, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography and one count of possessing and accessing with intent to view child pornography on April 8, 2025 in federal court.

Statements and evidence presented in court stated that the FBI began investigating Landon in March 2023 for distributing child pornography on the messaging service Wickr.

On April 4, 2023, Landon's phone was seized by the FBI. Forensic analysis of his phone revealed videos of Landon sexually abusing a minor boy and additional videos and images depicting child sexual abuse.
