An ex-firefighter with the Copperas Cove Fire Department has been arrested after being indicted last week on a narcotics possession charge.
A Coryell County grand jury indicted David Martin Corley, 24, on a third-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams. His name was not listed on the public grand jury report in August, which usually occurs when a defendant has not been arrested at the time of the indictment.
A true bill of indictment, which was filed with the district clerk on Aug. 28, indicates that Corley is accused of possessing methamphetamine on July 5. An arrest affidavit — a court document that provides the who, what, when and where of an allegation — was not available in Corley’s case.
