EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The cause of a house fire in East Peoria on Wednesday morning is under investigation.

25 News reports crews responded at around 8:45 A.M. to Season Drive, just off of Springfield Road.

Fire Chief Bobby Zimmerman says the fire was under control in under seven minutes.

Two people and three pets were rescued, with the people taken to a hospital as a precaution and one pet taken to a veterinary hospital.

No firefighters were injured.

The house suffered smoke and heat damage, but it is not a total loss.
