A 17-year-old Shaker Heights High School student was killed in a shooting on Aug. 31 in Maple Heights, which left two other male juveniles injured, according to a news release from the Maple Heights Police Department.

The student was identified as senior Jayden Bonner.

Maple Heights police officers responded to a report of gunshots at 10 p.m. Aug. 30 in the 5200 block of Thomas Street, where they first located the two males who were injured with gunshot wounds. The victims were given medical aid and transported to MetroHealth Medical Center.

As the investigation proceeded, the 17-year-old gunshot victim was located on Cato Street and identified as Jayden, who died from his injuries on the scene.
