On Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. the National Weather Service released a heat advisory in effect until Thursday at 8 p.m. for Grande Ronde Valley and John Day Basin as well as Wallowa County.
The weather service says to be ready for, "Hot conditions with afternoon high temperatures of 92 to 102 degrees. This will pose a moderate to major risk of heat-related illness."
"Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses," adds the weather service.
