FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WKRG) — The Fort Walton Beach Code Enforcement Team is making sure that the city stays as clean as possible through its Community Code Compliance Sweeps.
According to a city news release, the first sweep will take place on Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. in the areas of Third Street to U.S. 98 and Eglin Parkway to Alder Avenue.
This is all part of the city's initiative to be the "Cleanest City on the Emerald Coast," according to the release.
What does this sweep mean for residents? They must follow the code. Violations to the code include: • Inoperable vehicles or vehicles parked on the roadway for more than 72 hours • Overgrown grass and uncontrolled vegetation • Accumulation of litter, junk, or debris in yards • Garbage cans left curbside after collection • Unperm
