In the midst of seasonal rising COVID-19 cases in the United States, the Trump administration is restricting vaccine access, limiting who may be eligible for a shot.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration revoked the "Emergency Use Authorization," which made COVID-19 vaccines widely available during the pandemic.

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. posted about the revocation on X on Aug. 27 . Now, only those who are at risk for serious complications because they are 65 or older or have other health problems are eligible for the shot.

“FDA has now issued marketing authorization for those at higher risk: Moderna (6+ months), Pfizer (5+), and Novavax (12+),” Kennedy said in the post. “These vaccines are available for all patients who choose them after consulting with their doctors.”
