ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Canandaigua woman was arrested and charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty on Tuesday by the Ontario County Sheriff's Department.

27-year-old Alyssa L. Lyons has been charged with five counts of animal cruelty after deputies responded to a complaint on August 29.

Deputies arrived at the residence just after 9 p.m. that night, where it was alleged that Lyons had left three dogs at the home without food and water when she traveled to Wisconsin for the Labor Day weekend.

When deputies responded, it was believed a neighbor had been feeding the dogs. The next day, however, it was found that the neighbor had not been feeding them, and deputies returned.
