ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) — This past Labor Day weekend, New York State Police gave out 211 Move Over tickets.

Technical Sergeant, Jack Keller, is reminding drivers to slow down and move over when it’s safe to do so, if they see a vehicle stopped along a highway.

"For us, many drivers continue to pay attention, but however we are seeing a little bit of a challenge, and it continues for us to see them waiting until the last minute to move over or failing to move over at all," said Keller.

Back in 2023, The move over law was expanded to include any vehicle, not just emergency vehicles stopped on the roadway.
