CHICAGO (WGN) — At Home will close nearly 30 "underperforming" stores nationwide by the end of September after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection months earlier.

The update comes after the home-decor chain announced in June that the company was set to undergo a "transition of ownership" following a restructuring aimed at eliminating nearly $2 billion in debt.

Court documents filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware list three Illinois-area stores set to close by September 30, 2025: • 13180 S. Cicero Ave. (Crestwood) • 2100 S. Randall Road (Geneva) • 5203 W. War Memorial Drive (Peoria)

At Home also lists its Lake in the Hills location, at 101 Randall Road, among its expected store locations. It is not yet clear if the store will close by the end of
