JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Johnson City Public Library (JCPL) will be open on Sundays starting in September.
The library will be open from noon until 6 p.m. on Sundays.
"During the school year, people are busier during the week," JCPL Marketing Coordinator Hannah Kiger said. "It just is a busier time, and so it's nice to be able to offer people those Sunday hours because that's often sometimes the free day that they have, and so it's nice to be able to offer that."
The library will also host a special event on Sunday, Sept. 21 to celebrate the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Shire Fest will be held from 2 - 4:30 p.m.
