An attorney for a Polk County leader embroiled in multiple civil cases against the county has moved to disqualify an outside law firm from representing the county and its Board of Supervisors on the eve of a high-stakes libel, conspiracy and extortion trial brought by its former human relations chief, Jim Nahas.
With the Nahas trial scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 8, in Dallas County, where it was moved because of conflict of interest concerns in Polk County. Matthew Sahag, representing Deputy County Administrator Sarah Boese, filed a motion Wednesday to quash a subpoena that would compel Boese to testify. Sahag argued in a last-minute filing that attorneys in the civil division of the Polk County Attorney's Office have conflicts of interest in the case and so do attorneys with Lane & Wa
