MICAH Parsons' agent claims that the NFL superstar did everything he could to stay at the Dallas Cowboys.

Parsons recently signed a mammoth contract with the Green Bay Packers after a trade from the Cowboys .

The four-year deal is worth $188 million and makes the linebacker the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history .

However, on Tuesday, his agent, David Mulugheta, told ESPN's "First Take" that Parsons wanted to stay in Texas.

He said, "Micah loves the game too much. He was going to play no matter what."

"I think the most important thing is Micah wanted to be a Cowboy.

"He grew up cheering for the Cowboys, wore the blue and white at Penn State , wore it in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys.
