Two of the top senior men golfers in the state went head-to-head at the 41 st Wisconsin State Senior Open on the Player Course at Destination Geneva National in Lake Geneva on Sept. 3, with Michael Crowley besting David Roesch by a single shot to win the championship.
It was Crowley’s second Senior Open title . He also won in 2020.
Roesch, a Wisconsin Golf Hall of Famer , is still searching for his first title. He won the Wisconsin Senior PGA Professional Championship in July.
Crowley began the final round of the 36-hole tournament four shots behind Roesch but fired a 4-under 68 as Roesch went 1-over to flip the top of the scoreboard. Roesch was undone on his front nine, shooting 3-over. He got two shots back on his final nine but couldn’t secure a third birdie to force a
