MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - How far do you think you could ride a bike in one day?
Vermont Governor Phil Scott on Wednesday joined police, state troopers, and others in biking over 45 miles of the 93-mile Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. After the extended bike ride, he joined a ceremony in Montpelier to honor fallen law enforcement officers.
"Our communities are safer places because of the sacrifices our law enforcement officers make every day and we are forever in debt to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their community," Scott wrote on social media.
The extended bike ride was sponsored by The Honor Roll, an organization of current and retired police officers and their families.
In 2023, Scott planned to ride the entire 93-mile length of the trail, with Sen. Bernie
