SHREVEPORT, La. — The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is inviting residents to take part in a disaster preparedness workshop on Sept. 11 aimed at helping families plan ahead before emergencies strike.

The workshop will focus on how to assemble an emergency supply kit, what essential items to include, and practical survival tips for severe weather and other disasters.

Caddo Parish sheriff's Lt. Tony LeBlanc joined KTBS 3 Midday and said preparation is the key to safety.

Participants will receive guidance on food and water storage, first aid basics, communication strategies, and resources available through the sheriff’s office.
